INDONESIA… DANGEROUSLY BEAUTIFULL

Indonesia, coined from Greek roots "Indos" and "Nesos" which means Indians and islands respectively, Indian Islands is a major tourist attraction in the eastern hemisphere. A booming tourist venue packed with many Indonesia Popular Destinations to satisfy avid globe-trotters.
Magnificent islands and small islets of the country shaped its major popular destinations. The pristine and virgin beaches, extensive coastline, remarkable beach resorts, stunning natural beauty of the mountainous landscape, lying by the side of green rice and paddy fields, rolling green foothills, volcanoes and hot springs, lakes and rivers, diverse wildlife and plantations, its legendary history and culture, its cultural multiplicity, exceptional architecture and ancient monuments all guaranteed the splendid and enchanting Indonesia Popular Destinations.


Some of these include:

1. Sulawesi-- a famous orchid shaped island in Indonesia, Sulawesi can be tracked on first glance of the map of Indonesia. It has abundant nature and beautiful natural spots that offer fascinating and thrilling travel experiences. There are a number of places here with historical importance, which are worth visiting.

2. Bali-- this is by far the most famous island in Indonesia which is popular in movies, thus making it the most sought-after destination in Indonesia. It takes pride in its pristine white sand beaches, its world class services and adventure activities that have made visitors want to keep coming back.

3. Jakarta-- Indonesia's capital, Jakarta is where most establishments are built. This is where people shop in beautiful stores designed to offer the best products such as designer bags, shoes and clothes. There also are many antique shops that are popular among tourists. Indonesia is famous for antiques which have high price values.



4. Lombok-- a place where the most beautiful handicrafts are found, Lombok is a place where people find rattan furniture and woven fabrics.

5. Istiqlal Mosque - The largest mosque in Southeast Asia, the Istiqlal Mosque was constructed in 1975 and can accommodate more than 120,000 people, although it's not everyday that that many people come to visit this mosque. During Idul Firti and Idul Adha are the days when a lot of people come to pray at the mosque, as these are the holiest days of the year.

The name "Istiqlal" means "freedom" and the top floor of the mosque offers a great view of the many people who come to the mosque to pray. Aside from religious facilities, the Istiqlal Mosque also has provisions for social and cultural activities ranging from lectures, seminars, conferences, bazaars, and several programs for women, the youth and children.

6. Prambanan Temple - Known among the locals as Roro Jonggrang, the Prambanan Temple is one of the largest Hindu temples in Southeast Asia. The three main shrines are dedicated to three Hindu gods: Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu.

Aside from the three main shrines, there are a total of 224 temples in the complex. Visitors and tourists are drawn to the sight of the main shrines, which is viewable across great distances and rises above the scattered ruins of former temples. Viewing the sunrise behind the Prambanan Temple is also a must-see, usually around 5:00 in the morning.
